About A Christmas Carol on Broadway

The timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge comes to thrilling new life as Tony Award® winner Jefferson Mays (I Am My Own Wife, Gentleman’s Guide…) plays over 50 roles in a virtuosic, master class of a performance that must be seen to be believed. This theatrical achievement comes from the haunting and hope-filled vision of one of Broadway’s most imaginative directors, Michael Arden (Tony-winning Best Revival – Once on this Island).

Clever, Ambitious, Great acting, Great staging, Intelligent

See it if you want to see the talent of Jefferson Mays on stage for 90 minutes in a superb performance of multiple characters, enunciated perfectly.

Don’t see it if you expect to see Mays clearly, as it is a dark stage to make the excellent projections work. It's one actor telling/acting the entire story

Dark, Great acting, Entertaining, Clever

See it if You are a fan of Jefferson Mays, he is terrific. Also go if you love Dickens. Special effects are great too.

Don’t see it if It’s dark, both literally and figuratively. Very hard to see from the upper mezzanine. Would be better in a smaller venue.

See it if You want to experience A Christmas Carol like you never have before! Magnificent! Mays is extraordinary in his acting, surrounded by magic!

Don’t see it if I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying this. Even if you hate 1 person shows this production is so extraordinary it will win over any Scrooge.

Great staging, Refreshing, Great acting, Clever, Ambitious

See it if you’re interested in a one-person version of the classic material that is anything but bare bones. Also if you love intricate set design.

Don’t see it if you aren’t interested in holiday-related plays or if spooky stories aren’t for you.
