About Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway

Spanning three decades in the entertainment business, Merrily We Roll Along charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends—writer Mary and lyricist & playwright Charley. An inventive cult-classic ahead of its time, Merrily We Roll Along features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated and personal songs. Maria Friedman first directed the musical at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory–a production that subsequently transferred to the Harold Pinter Theatre, where it garnered the most five-star reviews in West End history before going on to win the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.

Finally version of merrily worthy of sond's genius, Tells story youthful dreams that are dashed

See it if brilliantly satirical, w great tunes, Sond's incmprably witty lyrics, fine perfs esp Groff/humanizing Frank & Tony-worthy Mendez

Don’t see it if DRadcliffe/Charley lost btw powrhouses Groff&Mendez; msgs "choices make a difference"&"ambition exacts price" obvious but execution's superb

Great acting, Dated, Entertaining

See it if into Sondheim's "take in stride" approach to life: friendship, love, career. Great acting and staging; the audience loved it.

Don’t see it if Well... as great and ambitious as it is, it is not a top Sondheim IMO - it has slow sections, and it is a bit unfocused.

Don’t see it if The only drawback are the sky high ticket prices. Also unfortunately Lindsay Mendez was out for my performance. Highly recommended must see.
