About Doubt on Broadway

Doubt: A Parable, John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award®-winning Best Play, returns to Broadway for the first time in nearly two decades. “An inspired study in moral uncertainty” (The New York Times), this modern classic stars Amy Ryan and Liev Schreiber in a staggering new Roundabout production directed by Scott Ellis. Sister Aloysius, the prickly principal of an all-boys Catholic school in a working-class part of the Bronx, is feared by students and colleagues alike. But when she suspects nefarious relations between the charismatic priest Father Flynn and a student, she’s forced to wrestle with what’s fact, what’s fiction, and how much she’ll risk to expose the difference—all the while wrestling with her own bone-deep doubts.

Simply a terrific play

See it if you want a great play in every way … fantastic writing, acting and set design. A very good production.

Don’t see it if you are not in the mood for a good, serious play. If that’s the case, maybe see a light hearted comedy or musical… See it another day.

Thought-provoking, Great writing, Great staging, Great acting, Must see

See it if Set in 1964, this mesmerizing drama is abt Sister Aloysius,a BX principal (a superb Amy Ryan)who suspects a priest(equally talented Liev S)*

Don’t see it if You need every element explained, then stay clear of this one. Remember this is "doubt"& most importantly, "a parable."

Great writing, Masterful, Intelligent, Riveting, Absorbing

See it if Excellent production of this revival with the 1st day of the new lead. Bravo to the entire cast.

Don’t see it if Given that this play is in previews, it can only get better as the actors get more comfortable in their roles.

Doubt can be a bond as powerful as certainty, When you are lost, you are not alone.

See it if You enjoy succinct well written plays that challenge you to think.

Don’t see it if You are triggered by suggestions of sexual abuse or you’re looking for a light comedy or musical.
