About Message in a Bottle

"Infectious energy & knock-out style" - Evening Standard

Initially inspired by Sting’s “Desert Rose” and including “Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” “Fields of Gold,” and 23 more of the artist’s most beloved songs, this dance-theater sensation opened to rave reviews on London’s West End and makes its New York debut at New York City Center.

Five-time Olivier Award nominee Kate Prince and her company ZooNation have been celebrated for dance-theater hits like Some Like It Hip Hop and Into the Hoods, and Prince received raves for her choreography on Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. In this latest acclaimed work, she weaves Sting’s music together into a story of three siblings driven from their home by war. Featuring powerful athleticism by world-class dancers and new musical arrangements by Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen), this contemporary and street-dance influenced work tells an uplifting tale of humanity and hope.

Relevant, Profound, Great staging, Exquisite, Enchanting

See it if Sting's most pop hits r woven into the moving story of the refugee-not any immigrant-told w/terrific jerky/street dance&vivid/sublime music.

Don’t see it if Uninterstd in musicals w/out dialogues,despite Sting's meaningful lyrics&Kate Prince's outstanding choreography.Ends May 12;tkts from $35

Resonant, Relevant, Profound, Must see, Great staging

See it if You are sensitive to the tragedy of forced displacement and how art can convey a powerful message with great music, dance & mise en scene

Don’t see it if U don't like Sting/Police; if the theme of forced displacement hits too close to home; if U can't stay 2 hours w/out looking at your phone

Emotional, Great choreography, Resonant, Masterful, Exquisite

See it if story of migration and exile hits home. You love Sting's music and want to witness it with beautiful choreo blending modern & hippop.

Don’t see it if I think everyone should see this show. Moving without any words spoken. But perhaps if you have trauma for sexual violence and death.
